Bay Area Rapid Transit

BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit) is the fast, easy, low-cost way to get to San Francisco or other cities from SFO or OAK. Round-trip BART fares are about the same as one-way shuttle vans and $80 less then round trip taxis. Taking BART also avoids traffic and is only a half-hour ride from SFO or OAK to San Francisco. You can also buy round-trip tickets in advance from SFO to any city served by BART at www.bart.gov/Airport Connections page. BART is the car-free way to travel around and see the Bay Area too. Our conveniently located stations are close to many of the Bay Area's most popular destinations. Oakland International Airport (OAK) also has a new BART train service. Taking BART from OAK is the convenient, fast, inexpensive way to get to San Francisco or other cities from OAK. The 8 minute ride on sleek, new BART trains goes to the Coliseum station and connects to a BART train going to your final destination. During peak hours 8:00-20:00 daily, trains operate every 5 minutes. Every round trip from SFO or OAK to San Francisco on BART's all electric trains keeps 20 pounds of carbon particles out of the air.
