ITA Young Members Program
ITA Young Members Program
The ITA young members group will be active at WTC 2016. We have a few activities for young professionals!
ITA-YM will, in cooperation with UCAYM, have a young member student Orientation on Sunday from 16:30 to 17:30. The main networking event will be the reception for all young attendees on Monday 25th from 18:30 onwards. This will be an informal gathering and an excellent opportunity to get to know other young professionals from all over the world and learn what ITA-YM and UCAYM are up to.
The annual ITA-YM members general meeting will be held on Wednesday 27th 08:30. During the general meeting, the ITA-YM Steering board will present what has been done in the last year, the plans for the coming year, and there will be elections for new members of the steering board (nominations are open now). There will also be presentations from member nations on what is being done in different countries and presentations from committees and work groups in ITA that might be relevant for young people. At the general meeting, we will have an official ITA-CET presentation by the Chair.
In addition, ITA-YM will, in cooperation with UCAYM, have a booth at the exhibition area. We will be at Booth Number 1214, so please feel free to drop by for a chat, come find out about ITA-YM, or hang out for a bit! The ITA-YM look forward to see you at WTC 2016!
PS. Watch out for the orange sunglasses!
About the ITA Young Members Group
ITA created the Young Members Group during the General Assembly 2014 in Iguassum, Brazil. The aim of the group is to provide a technical networking platform within ITA for young professionals and students by bridging the gap between generations; allowing young members to network across all experience levels in the industry.
The group aims to bring awareness of the tunnelling and underground space industry to new generations and to provide young professionals and students with a voice in the ITA, including the Working Groups. The group intends to look after the next generation of tunnelling professionals and to pass on the aims and ideals of the ITA.
ITA Young Members Group activities include:
- Arrange events for international networking, exchange of experience and technology between young professionals and students
- Inspire young generation to join and actively participate inside ITA
- Encourage member nations in establishing domestic YM groups for each individual ITA Member Nation
Becoming a Part of the ITA Young Members Group
The ITA YM Group is seeking nominated representatives (under the age of 35) from Young Members National Organisations who specialise in tunnelling & underground space. Participation is open to all young professionals and students under 35 years of age who have an interest in the aims of the group and are motivated to contribute.
